Tire Care Tips

We want our customers in Clarion, Strattanville, Limestone, and surrounding areas to remain on top of tire performance and adhere to their maintenance schedules.

  • Check tire pressure regularly. Underinflation can lead to excess heat, uneven wear, and decreased braking — properly inflated tires maximize tread life and fuel efficiency.
  • Follow proper tire rotation schedules as outlined in your owner's manual. Routine rotations equalize front-to-rear and side-to-side wear.
  • Balance tires as necessary. Out-of-balance tires may cause vibration that becomes more noticeable at higher speeds — balance during initial installation and every remount.
  • Install new tires in sets or pairs. When two new tires are needed, install them on the rear and move the partially worn tires to the front.
  • Store tires in a dark, dry place away from sunlight, solvents, grease, and ozone-producing equipment.
  • Watch for signs of abnormal wear, punctures, embedded objects, cracks, or bulges.
  • Always keep a spare tire — and make sure it's properly inflated and ready to use.

The Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA) recommends taking five minutes each month to check your tires. By taking proper care of your tires, you can stay safe, experience better fuel economy, and extend tire life.
